For the strength of the pack is the wolf,
and the strength of the wolf is the pack.
--- Rudyard Kipling, The Jungle Book
Like the air-invested heron,
great persons should conduct themselves;
the higher they be, the less they should show.
--- Philip Sidney
The wolf is fierce. It operates as part of a pack, recognizing that as a team, it can hunt, feed, and rest more effectively. And yet, when on it's own, the lone wolf is still a force to be reckoned with. At wolf & heron, the wolf represents the stubborn ferociousness that entrepreneurs and leaders need to access within themselves to make the contribution they're capable of, as well as the teamwork required to truly see their visions come to pass.
The heron is graceful and calm, yet strong. If exists primarily in solitude, but is comfortable on land, in water, and in flight high in in the air. The heron looks ahead and takes flight to change the world around it as needed. At wolf & heron, the heron represents patience, mindfulness, self-determination and the easy transitions true leadership requires.
